IPG Delegation Visits Brazil to Explore Future Collaborations



In December 2013, a delegation from the Interdisciplinary Plant Group (IPG) visited Brazil to explore collaborative opportunities with FAPESP (Sao Paulo State Research Foundation) and several institutions in the state. The IPG participants were Bob Sharp, David Braun, Debbie Finke, Felix Fritschi, Walter Gassmann, Joe Polacco, and Vicki Bryan (IPG Coordinator). On December 16, a joint IPG/FAPESP workshop was held at FAPESP headquarters in Sao Paulo. The workshop featured six talks from IPG members and six talks from scientists at various institutions in Sao Paulo state, and was attended by approximately 60 people. On December 17-18, the IPG group visited the agriculture campus of the University of Sao Paulo, the Center for Sugarcane Technology, the State University of Campinas, and the Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory.
