Robert Sharp

Robert Sharp, Professor, Division of Plant Sciences

The IPG congratulates Robert (Bob) Sharp, Professor in the Division of Plant Sciences, who was recently awarded the 2008 Mumford Outstanding Faculty Award. Sharp, who joined MU in 1986, is internationally recognized for his research and pioneering work on root growth and development in maize and soybean during drought conditions. His research may eventually help improve crop performance in drought-prone areas.

The prestigious Mumford Outstanding Faculty Award, named for Dean Frederick Blackmar Mumford (1868-1946), is given annually by the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources to faculty who symbolize the spirit of Missouri agriculture and higher education.
