Registration

Registration will be handled by the MU Conference Office.

You can register online here.

Registration deadline is May 10, 2024. Registration will be limited to 225. On-site registration is discouraged.

*Reduced registration fee for students and postdocs is made possible through grant funding from the United States Department of Agriculture - National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA/NIFA).

The Plant Hormone 101 Workshop on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM is provided at no additional cost by our sponsors. Cancellations
Refunds, minus a $50.00 processing fee, will be made only upon receipt of a written request to the MU Conference Office at muconf3@missouri.edu and must be received by May 13, 2024. No refunds will be processed after this date. Substitutions are welcome.

    • If you do not have a roommate, you will need to register for a single room. Roommates will not be assigned.
    • Registration for the residence hall is available during conference registration.
    • Rooms are air-conditioned and less than three blocks from the conference site. Rooms are furnished with limited bed linens and towels.
    • Alcohol is not allowed in the residence hall
    • The of University of Missouri is a tobacco free campus (including residence halls)
    • Residence halls, in which dormitories are located, lock at 10:30 pm. If your arrival time falls after 10:30 pm, please contact us (573-882-1012 or muconf3@missouri.edu) to see if other arrangements can be made for entry, or book alternate arrangements. Each resident will be provided an access code at check-in for afterhours access.
    • No refunds after May 13, 2024. If you fail to return your key at check out or you lose your key, you will be charged a lost key fee of $15.00.
Meals

An Opening Reception will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 6PM at the Roof in the Broadway Hotel (included in registration cost).

Continental breakfast will be provided Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Lunch on Wednesday will also be provided. Dinners will be on your own. There are fast food venues available on campus and a number of restaurants within walking distance of campus. A restaurant list will be provided onsite with your meeting materials.

A networking dinner for students and postdoctoral fellows to meet with speakers, will be held on Wednesday evening (included in registration costs).

Campus Visitor Parking

The University of Missouri has transitioned to virtual parking permits which requires online submission and payment of vehicle and parking dates. Please email muconf3@missouri.edu if you plan to park a vehicle on campus for additional information.

Conference Site

All sessions of the symposium will be held in the Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center on the Columbia campus of the University of Missouri.

Travel

Columbia Regional Airport has connecting flights from Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth via American Airlines. MoX offers van shuttle service from St Louis International Airport to Columbia, MO. Contact your local travel agency or MoX for current prices and schedules.

Research Posters/Abstracts

The organizing committee invites poster submissions on topics related to plant biology research in general. The posters may describe recently completed research, research in progress, or publicly presented research.

Abstract Submission
Abstracts must be submitted online and should be no longer than one page in length. The deadline to submit an abstract for inclusion in the meeting book is April 26, 2024.

Abstract Formatting Instructions
For consistency, please follow the formatting instructions below. LIMIT TEXT to one page following format. All abstracts that do not meet the below standards will not be printed in the abstract book.

Selected Abstract Talk
To be considered for a selected talk in one of the sessions, you must submit your abstract by April 19, 2024 and check the box indicating you would like to be considered for a poster talk when you submit your abstract.

Speed Posters
This year's symposium will also feature two "Speed Poster" sessions. During these sessions, each poster presenter will have one minute to summarize their poster. To participate in the "Speed Poster" sessions, you must select the box indicating you would like to participate when you submit your abstract, which must be submitted by April 19, 2024.
Note: you may select to be considered for both a poster talk and participate in speed posters.

Poster Details
Posters should fit within a 4 ft x 4 ft (approx. 121 cm x 121 cm) display board. Pins to place posters on boards will be provided. Posters will be numbered. Poster numbers will be available when you pick up your registration packet on site.

Travel Awards

A limited number of travel awards are available for early career scientists (postdocs, graduate students and undergraduate students) needing financial assistance to attend the symposium. Travel awards are funded by USDA-NIFA and provide domestic travel, dorm accommodation and registration assistance. Please submit an application no later than Friday, April 19, 2024.

The University of Missouri and the organizers of the IPG symposium are committed to providing a safe environment for everyone participating in the IPG 2024 symposium.
