The Interdisciplinary Plant Group (IPG) at the University of Missouri will host the 2026 American Society of Plant Biologist Midwest Section Annual Meeting as our 42nd Annual Symposium.

The Bond Life Sciences Center on the Columbia campus of the University of Missouri (just two blocks from the original meeting location). All details relating to accommodations and shuttles is unchanged.All sessions of the symposium will be held in the Memorial Union on the Columbia campus of the University of Missouri.

Research Posters/Abstracts
The organizing committee invites poster submissions on topics related to plant biology research in general. The posters may describe recently completed research, research in progress, or publicly presented research. To present a poster during the meeting and for the abstract to be included in the meeting book, abstracts must be submitted by 11:59 PM CDT Friday, April 10th.

- Abstract Submission
Abstracts must be submitted online and should be no longer than one page in length. - Selected Abstract Talk – The deadline to submit to be considered for an abstract talk has passed.
To be considered for a selected talk in one of the sessions, you must submit your abstract by 11:59 PM (CST) on March 6, 2026 and check the box indicating you would like to be considered for an abstract talk when you submit your abstract. - Abstract Formatting Instructions
For consistency, please follow the formatting instructions below. LIMIT TEXT to one-page following format. All abstracts that do not meet the below standards will not be published in the online meeting book. - Poster Details
Posters should fit within a 4 ft x 4 ft (approx. 121 cm x 121 cm) display board. Pins to place posters on boards will be provided. Posters will be numbered. Poster numbers will be available when you pick up your registration packet on site.
Travel Awards
A limited number of travel awards are available for early career scientists (postdocs, graduate students and undergraduate students) needing financial assistance to attend the symposium.
