2025 IPG Symposium

Root Biology

May 20, 2025 @ 5:00 pm May 23, 2025 @ 12:00 pm

The Interdisciplinary Plant Group (IPG) at the University of Missouri hosted it’s 41st annual symposium on the topic of “Root Biology”.

2025 Symposium 2

The 6th IPG Root Biology Symposium brought together leading experts in root biology from around the world and provided a forum for interactions among prominent scholars, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate and undergraduate students. A broad range of topics were covered, including root development and growth, root function in water and nutrient uptake, responses to abiotic and biotic stress, and root-microbe interactions. Research presented spanned spatial and temporal scales and encompassed studies based on model, crop, and native species. The symposium enabled close interactions among all participants to foster the generation of new ideas and collaborations that will ultimately contribute to more sustainable crop production and enhance ecosystem services.

The symposium was held at the Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center on the Columbia campus of the University of Missouri, USA, from May 20-23, 2025.
