2027 IPG Symposium – Plant Metabolism, Metabolomics & Health for All

Metabolism is dynamic, complex, and interconnected with itself and all other processes in the plant. The metabolic end products have various roles in plants, including defense, but also benefit humans in many ways, i.e. nutrition andmedicines. Yet, much remains to be learned about individual metabolic pathways and how they are interconnected. These knowledge gaps prevent us from fully harnessing plant metabolism for enhanced plant and human health. The 2027 IPG symposium “Plant Metabolism, Metabolomics & Health for All” will address these gaps with sessions focusing on stress metabolism and chemical ecology, application of plant metabolites for human health, synthetic biology and metabolic engineering, pathway discovery of medicinal compounds, central carbon metabolism, and spatial metabolomics. The symposium will enable close interactions among all participants to foster the generation of new ideas and collaborations and will provide opportunities for early-career scientists to expand their professional networks and explore career opportunities.
