Four IPG Faculty Members Receive Awards at CAFNR’s Celebration of Excellence

Dr. David Mendoza-Cozatl, Associate Professor in the Division of Plant Science and Technology, received the Roger L. Mitchell Fellow Award. This award honors Roger L. Mitchell, a former dean of the MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, by recognizing those who elevate the College through collaboration and innovative thinking. It is presented annually to a faculty member in recognition of academic excellence and leadership in one or more areas of the College’s core mission of outreach, research and teaching.

Dr. Chung-Ho Lin, Research Professor in the School of Natural Resources, received the Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award. This award recognizes the efforts of faculty member who has guided students to degree completion and demonstrate unusually effective ongoing mentoring relationships with advisees during their programs of study.

Dr. Abe Koo, Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, received the Outstanding Mid-Career Research Award. This award recognizes demonstrated excellence in research performance through research funding, scholarly publications, scholarly presentations and graduate student mentoring and a career trajectory toward international recognition in their individual research or contributions to research teams.

Dr. Bing Yang, Curators’ Distinguished Professor in Plant Science and Technology, received the Frederick B. Mumford Award. CAFNR’s prestigious award, the Mumford, recognizes an outstanding faculty member who has given the College distinguished service with a sustained record of excellence in teaching, research and is recognized on campus, and externally, for the quality and value of their research.
