I am interested in all things Diabrotica. Recently, this has included collaborative research on their transcriptome, microbiome, metabolome, and improving larval artificial diets. Throughout my career I have worked on management, host-plant resistance, resistance management, behavior, ecology, chemical ecology, host-plant interactions, and tritrophic interactions. I have worked primarily with the western corn rootworm in the past, but increasingly on the northern corn rootworm as well. My interests flow from a desire to solve real problems of interest to U.S. corn growers. Rootworms are the agronomic trait that I have primarily focused on thus far. My long-term goal is a broad understanding of rootworm ecology, resistance management and plant interactions leading toward additional management options.
