The 41st Annual Interdisciplinary Plant Group Symposium “Root Biology VI”, the sixth in a series on root biology, was held May 20 – 23, 2025 in the Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, MO.
This year’s symposium brought together over 150 attendees from across the globe to discuss discoveries and research in root biology. The symposium was organized around five major themes; Root Growth and Root Ecosystem Services, Root/Rhizosphere Microbe Interactions, Root Development, Nutrient and Water Uptake and Transport and Responses and Adaptations to Abiotic Stress. The sessions featured 21 invited speakers as well as seven invited short abstract talks.
In addition to session talks, the symposium provided networking opportunities through a dinner with the speakers, exclusive for students and postdocs, and receptions and poster sessions on Wednesday and Thursday featuring nearly 30 posters.
